Saying “please” and “thank you” is always important…do it in style with customized cards from philoSophies by Joanna Alberti. juliaallison: Allie is famous for her thank you notes (she writes a thank you note for EVERYTHING, IMMEDIATELY.  You’ll give her a gift and 24 hours later you’ll have a beautifully written thank you note in your mailbox the next day. It’s amazing.) I knew about PhiloSophies by Joanna Alberti, because she had made me “Julia” cards a few years back, and I knew they were adorable and Allie would love them. So I emailed her two photos of Allie & Britt, specifying that I wanted two sets of cards: the first with Allie in red (her favorite color) and Britt in blue (his favorite color), and one set with just Allie, writing a thank you with a little red apple (because she’s a teacher!) I paid $100, and I think it was so worth it - I know Allie will get great joy out of them. And once I have my new address in LA, I plan to have her do moving announcements for me too!

Cupcakes?  Nope!  Candles.  Perfect for brithdays or everyday.  Love them! Soo Miss Julia Allison stopped by Ryan Darius Salon today to get her Platinum Seamless Hair extensions redone. Now because Miss Julia is the sweetest thing ever she brought us a sweet treat from Macaron Cafe!! These macarons are soo delish and I was thrilled when Ryan informed Julia and I that he was on a cleanse and couldn’t eat any :( Thats ok Ryan that just means more for ME!!

MANY thanks to my friend Amanda Mihaly for introducing me to Macaron Cafe.  They pretty much make the best “thank you”/hostess gifts ever.  And I was very proud of myself for not eating a single one!  We let TJ do the honors this time.  ;)

If you’re in NYC, visit the High Line, a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Maybe you’ll see TJ there!

I finnally got to go to High Line park the other day and it was one of the BEST New York things I have experienced so far. It is soo cool seeing something that was industrial turned organic and alive. It is an oasis of peace in a very intensely fast paced city. I LOVE it!

Katrina’s swimwear pick… katrinaszish: My favorite swimwear is by Norma Kamali.  I have loved it since I first learned about it while working at VOGUE over a decade ago (Phyllis Posnick always incorporated some variation of Kamali spandex or lycra in her monthly shoots with Irving Penn…and she used to make me try the samples on before the real models came in for fittings — a total nightmare, especially under horrid fluorescent lights in the fashion closet). Anyway, Kamali studied anatomy, so her sense of the human form translates beautifully into her designs.   Naturally, her creations aren’t inexpensive, BUT…she’s having a mini online sample sale.  I just got the email.  Even better, you can try before you buy — they will send you pieces to try BEFORE charging your credit card.  If you like, keep and pay.  If you don’t, just send back.   Shop HERE.

New Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15

Major, major news—Fresh has come out with a new Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.50)to add to the family of the original and Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment. The latter is a STAPLE of mine. I’ve purchased no fewer than 12 tubes in the last year and just today bought a new one when I realized I’d left my last tube somewhere at LAX nightclub in Vegas. Devastating.

I love Fresh’s new plum iteration because it’s a tricky little thing—what you see is not really what you get. It imparts a VERY light plum tint. It’s quite a bit more sheer than the Sugar Rose one, which is sheer, but when you build it, it becomes more opaque. This one’s transparent whether you apply one coat or four. It’s a decidedly Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick circa 1995 effect—it looks very deep in-tube, but goes on to deliver a kiss of color. And as always, it brings the moisture in a big way while protecting you from UV rays. What more could you ask for?

These charming designs make the perfect thank you cards for Laura.  They&#8217;re also perfect as invitations, for notes or just to say &#8220;Hey!&#8221; laurahunter: This isn’t entertainment-related… but I just discovered that a very lovely girl I went to high school with has started her own stationary company. She’s an incredible artist and the cards, which were featured in People, are adorable. I send a lot of thank you cards to people that I work with or audition for… these would be perfect.
